Two Arrested in Connection to Vehicle Burglaries in Burlington County
January 12, 2025 – Burlington County, NJ
Burlington County law enforcement officials have arrested two individuals in connection to a series of vehicle burglaries that took place between September 2024 and January 2025.
Ashton Stargell, 20, and Kameron Haynes, 18, were arrested earlier this week after an investigation linked them to over 60 vehicle break-ins across Mount Laurel, Evesham, and Medford. The suspects reportedly targeted unlocked vehicles, stealing electronics, personal belongings, and valuables left in plain sight.
The burglaries have caused concern among local residents, many of whom were shocked by the number of cars that were targeted in their neighborhoods. Authorities are urging residents to take extra precautions to secure their vehicles and remove valuables from sight.
Investigation and Arrests
Following an extensive investigation, which included the review of surveillance footage and tips from the community, the Burlington County Sheriff's Office was able to identify Stargell and Haynes as the suspects in the break-ins. The two men are facing multiple charges, including burglary, theft, and conspiracy.
“We appreciate the community’s cooperation in helping us bring these individuals to justice,” said Lieutenant Mark Devine of the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office. “This case is a reminder that we all must remain vigilant and take simple steps to protect our property.”
Preventing Future Burglaries
In light of the arrests, local authorities are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables visible. The Sheriff’s Office also encourages the community to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
“These types of crimes can often be prevented with simple precautions,” Lieutenant Devine said. “We urge residents to lock their doors and keep valuables out of sight to help prevent future incidents.”
Stargell and Haynes are currently being held in Burlington County Jail pending further proceedings.
