Sticky-Fingered Newark Man Charged in Dunkin' Donuts Burglary Spree
A Newark man, Enajaim E. Bowman, has been charged with a series of Dunkin' Donuts burglaries across New Jersey.

A Newark man has been accused of masterminding a daring burglary spree, targeting Dunkin' Donuts locations across New Jersey. The suspect, identified as Enajaim E. Bowman, allegedly hit 14 stores between December 2024 and January 2025, leaving a trail of broken locks, empty cash registers, and frustrated business owners in his wake.
The High-Stakes Heist
Bowman’s alleged crime spree spanned multiple counties, including Bergen, Middlesex, Morris, and Union. His method was simple yet effective: break in during the quiet overnight hours and make off with cash and valuables. Authorities estimate Bowman stole over $18,000 in cash and $140 in gift cards while causing $10,000 in property damage. One attempted break-in was unsuccessful, but the rest were executed with precision.
How He Was Caught
The investigation was led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Reduction Unit in collaboration with local police departments. Detectives painstakingly reviewed surveillance footage and gathered forensic evidence to connect Bowman to the crimes. After weeks of investigation, Bowman surrendered to authorities on February 25 and now faces multiple charges, including burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.
A Growing Problem
This isn’t the first time Dunkin' Donuts locations have been targeted by criminals. In September 2024, another Newark resident made headlines for burglarizing a Dunkin' Donuts while riding an electric scooter. These incidents highlight the vulnerabilities faced by businesses operating late at night or early in the morning.
What’s Next?
Bowman remains in custody as he awaits his court appearance. Meanwhile, law enforcement officials are urging business owners to strengthen security measures and encouraging community members to report suspicious activity through anonymous tip lines.
